The Devil

~ Overview 

The call to free oneself, a need for liberation, immersed within the mind, unhealthy habits, ego 

~ Essence

 The acknowledgement of and action toward life aspects that are calling to be changed

~ Insight 

The Devil arises when we are being called to free ourselves from what is depleting our soul, negatively impacting our well-being and making us unhappy. 

This may be relating to unhealthy habits, damaging beliefs, people, places, activities or the stories that we are consistently replaying within our mind ~ over and over again. 

It is a calling to look at our current patterns, choices, way of living and how it is affecting us.

There is a need for self-awareness, accountability and reflection.

Once we consciously recognise and acknowledge aspects that are harming ourselves or others we can start to release ourselves from them, explore options and develop a new approach. 

It is important that we acknowledge the power of the energy this card represents and therefore are respectful, compassionate and understanding with ourselves along the journey. 

There may be some setbacks, the changes we make can take some time to find steady ground, what matters most is that we try and that we encourage conscious choices each day.

When we feel held down with responsibility, caught within the mind or in situations we feel unable to change, our inward spirit can begin to feel distressingly stuck and depleted.

The Devil is a learning stage, a process of recognising what is being re-created through our thoughts, actions and situation.

A reflection upon the long-term effects as well as the current.

It is an asking, for us to sit with the more painful, uncertain and uncomfortable parts of self. 

Not something we have to do alone, trusted support, space and community are encouraged.

The more we avoid what is calling to be changed, the more damaging and painful it becomes. 

However the Devil card arrives to encourage us that we have the strength for some form of beneficial change to be made,

to heal our relationship within and with the outer world, to focus our energy upon a fulfilling path, to nurture confidence and build what we really need in life.
